Climbing Tower | Bouldering Wall | COPE| Availability and Reservations
Available Weekends-Saturdays (April through November) and in use during Boy Scout Summer Camp and only if the weather is permitting. Are you looking for some fun and excitement for the summer or on a weekend? Challenge yourself by taking the plunge down the zip line on our COPE course, or ascend the towering slopes of our Council’s climbing towers, or traverse the endless edges of our bouldering walls! This may be the challenge your unit, group, or organization is looking for! COPE, Climbing, and Bouldering are fun and exciting experiences that challenge the mind, body, and spirit of those looking for adventure. We offer groups the opportunity to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally, through our various Bouldering, Climbing, and COPE sessions. More than just fun activities, they are used to help build confidence, trust, and unity as our staff leads your group through the experience. Seeing participants go further and higher than they thought possible makes each course special. Instructors will explain equipment, safety, procedures, and proper techniques before each activity. The Climbing Program includes the following activities:
The Climbing Program challenges each participant, with three different skill levels, to reach the top of the tower. The participants are securely harnessed and belayed up the face of the tower at their own pace. This will challenge participant's strength and motivation to reach the top. Participants can stop at any place along the way; it’s their decision. The Climbing Tower will also challenge participants to step over the edge and rappel to the ground below controlling their own descent rate with a safety belayer. We offer groups the opportunity to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally, through our climbing sessions. More than just an activity, it is a way to build confidence, trust, and unity as our staff leads your group, through the climbing/rappelling/bouldering experience. The bouldering program challenges each participant to increase their strength and enhance their climbing skills by horizontally traversing the bouldering wall. A boulderer may climb no higher on the wall than his shoulders are high off the ground when he is standing on the ground. There is no gear used for this activity. Instead, each boulderer is spotted by two spotters who will break the boulderers fall, if he should happen to fall. More than just an activity, bouldering is a fun way of physically challenging one-self and building confidence and trust. Instructors will explain the proper techniques of spotting and bouldering before each activity.

The COPE Program provides two unique ways to challenge each participant: Low COPE and High COPE. Low COPE focuses on team building exercises and activities on the ground that challenge a group’s teamwork and communication skills. High COPE focuses on team building activities high off the ground that again challenge a group’s teamwork and communication skills. The participants are securely harnessed and belayed on the High COPE course at their own pace. Participants can stop at any point – it’s their decision to do only what they are comfortable with (Challenge by Choice). The program will also challenge participants to step off the edge and travel down to the ground on a zip line.
