AwardsThe Boy Scouts of America has many ways in which to recognize and honor outstanding youth and adult leaders. It is important that we recognize our youth and effective leadership or we may lose the membership of our youth and the services of volunteers that we truly need. One way we can do this through effective use of youth and adult awards and recognitions. This section is designed to identify what these awards are, how some of them can be obtained, and to ensure that the requirements are easily understood and universally applied within the council. In some cases, the award can be earned and applied for by the participant. Other awards require nomination from the leader’s peers.
