Since 1950, D-bar-A-Scout Ranch has been providing quality scouting experiences for Scouts, Schools, and Churches from Southeast Michigan and around the Midwest. D-bar-A is located about an hour north of Detroit, MI. The ranch is a host to over 1,700 acres of wilderness, 3 lakes, a herd of horses, cattle, and other livestock, 28 heated cabins, and 14 tent sites. Program facilities also include a 32 foot climbing tower, Lonesome Pines Boy Scout Shooting Center (Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery), Robert Morrison Cub Scout Shooting Center (BB Gun and Archery), Nature Center, Bouldering Wall, and 11 miles of hiking trails. The ranch is operated by the Great Lakes Council, BSA and employs 3 full time rangers to handle all maintenance operations. However, maintaining 1700 acres is not possible without the support of volunteers from all over the United States who some back every year to provide upkeep of the camp. Additionally, the service provided by the members of the Noquet Lodge provide countless hours of service during there three conclave weekends and throughout the rest of the year. The summer program at D-bar-A is endless. We offer several programs for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing Crews, and serve high school football camps and band camps. In 2007, Great Lakes Council, BSA (formerly Detroit Area Council) announced its "Go Green" campaign. This project is starting at D-bar-A and will continue into the rest of the council's projects. They will no longer be using disposables in the dining facilities, among other earth saving projects. >>Learn More About D-bar-A Scout Ranch Upcoming Weekend Events @ D-bar-A Scout Ranch
