The Great American Get-A-Way is a fun filled 3- night/3- day weekend of Scouting activities for the entire family. During the course of the weekend, families will have the opportunity to use all of Lost Lake's facilities, just like the Boy Scouts do during summer camp.

What's the great thing about the weekend? There are no schedules! Show up to just about any event, at any time, and you will be able to use the facilities. All activities are staffed by qualified and trained volunteers that have given of their time to provide a quality program for your enjoyment. Program starts promptly on Saturday morning for all to enjoy.

Event Update:

Help is needed for the upcoming Great American Get Away on both weekends. Help is needed in the kitchen cooking, and doing dishes.  Help will also be needed in the craft area, with registration and ranger duties. For details and to apply, please contact at (

Who Can Attend?

Entire families, not just Scouts and parents, bring along grandparents, older and younger siblings, pets (on a leash and with immunization records), best friends and their families and other relatives who enjoy the great outdoors.

When and Where?

The weekends always happen on Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend at Lost Lake Scout Reservation in Lake, MI.

Registration

Registration is online only and opens March 28, 2012 for both Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend.
Registration ends for the Memorial Weekend May 25, 2012 and August 27, 2012 for the Labor Day Weekend.

Camp Fees

Camp fees are per person and they depend on the facility used. Actual site locations are assigned by the event coordinator. However, must choose at registration the type of site you would like:

Cabins - $48.00 per night (up to 4 people) and three night minimum
Each cabin sleeps for people. Each cabin includes heat, electricity two sets of bunk beds, and a desk and chair (NO COOKING inside of cabins). Includes centralized shower/ bath house and a large central fire ring (adult supervision required when fire present). Fires must be OUT when not monitored by an adult.
 
Camper Sites: $10.00 per night per person
Camper sites include water connections, electricity and a fire ring at each site and include use of a centralized shower/bath house. These sites are located in the Stilwell Family Camp.
 
Tent Sites & RV Sites: $6.00 per night per person
Each tent site includes picnic tables, fire ring and a latrine. Showers can be used in the cabin area, family camp area or the camp showers. Each site is capable of holding multiple families.
